Challenges facing female offenders and how the journey can be made less difficult.

Admissions & Services

Women placed in ARCA's residential program must be female offenders, 18 years of age or older. They must be referred from one of the following agencies: The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections; the Adult Parole Authority; Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court through Cuyahoga County Probation, or the Cuyahoga County Initiative. ARCA is a goal driven program. The length of stay depends on the needs of each offender as well as their ability to reach individual goals; however, on the average, women stay for approximately 90-120 days. Women with special needs may remain for a longer period of time. Offenders may be referred from any of the 88 counties in Ohio. ARCA accepts repeat offenders; however, it accepts neither pedophiles nor sexually orientated offenders, who are required to register with local law enforcement.

The organization specializes in its services to women with disabilities, including those suffering from mental illnesses. ARCA provides a wide range of services to its residents. These service include but are not limited to the following:

  • Individual and group work in cognitive behavioral change
  • On-going case management services
  • Assistance in job preparation, including work-hardening, resume development, and job search/job placement assistance
  • Life, communication and socialization skills
  • Financial education
  • Referral Services
ARCA is certified by the Ohio department of Rehabilitation and Correction to provide training to its residents in the area of attitude (social adjustment) and is accredited by the American Correctional Association.
